1. Make sure to type out your plays in detail. Card names, targets, effects, that sort of thing, they should all be made as clear as possible for your opponent. That being said, it is not mandatory to explain a card's effect line for line or type out the effect for your opponent; though you can. If your opponent has never heard of the card or is unfamiliar with it, it is their responsibly to simply look it up, which can be as simple as a Google search.
2. Give your opponent reasonable opportunities to be able to respond to your moves. For example, if your opponent has 2 cards face down and you summon a monster, stop there and post, as your opponent might respond. It is fine if you simply IM your opponent or ask them on the C-Box if they have any chains, as long as neither play gets ahead of themselves. If your opponent does get too far ahead in their move and you had a chain at one point, you are allowed to say what you were chaining to and your opponent must respond at that point in the duel and continue from there.
3. It is BOTH players responsibility to list their current field and hand presence as well as their life points at the end of each of their turns. Below is a simple example.
It is not mandatory to list every card that you have in your graveyard or in your removed from play pile, though if that information becomes relevant to the duel, it is public knowledge. If your opponent asks for their contents, you cannot refuse.
4. Cheating is frowned upon. Violators will be punished accordingly. More importantly, NO ONE WANTS TO DUEL A CHEATER. Once you get labeled as one, good luck finding a game. And no, your opponent refusing to duel does not count as a win.
5. Many of you use a dueling program such as YVD or Dueling Network. If both you and your opponent decide to duel through one of these mediums instead of having a forum duel, that is fine. Just make sure to save the duel log in case of result disputes, especially if its an important duel pertaining to the story line. For the record, we'd prefer you Forum Duel. It's tidier, easier to read, you can use custom cards, and RP the duel out properly.
6. Tag duels will conform to the following rules and rulings. Tag duels start off at 2v2, but they can go up to 5v5 for full-team duels!

7. Duelists will have two days to respond to their opponent's turn. We understand that some things get in the way of being able to get online. If the duelist does not respond within two days, it is counted as a forfeit. The only exception is if the duelist posts in the away boards to notify their opponent and the staff members that they will be away. However, this should not be done excessively.
8. No duelist is allowed to edit a deck while currently in a duel. This can and will be labeled as cheating. If you want to double-post multiple decks, so you can edit different decks while another one is a duel, in the same thread to prevent that mistake that's fine. In the same respect, you are not allowed to modify your posted move even if you have to change because of an unexpected chain. Simply post a follow up post finishing your move from that move.
9. The use of all TCG and OCG cards are allowed here, though TCG rulings will be used. Anime and/or custom cards are allowed. All decks must adhere to advanced format and follow the current TCG ban list, which can be found here:
